Godox has announced its new KNOWLED PL600RF and PL1200RF flagship fixtures. They are part of the new PL series, designed for high-end film production, commercial advertising, and studio environments.

Both lights feature Godox’s new PaletteLab full-spectrum color engine; that is claimed to deliver highly accurate color reproduction, improved spectral consistency, and enhanced rendering of skin tones in complex lighting scenes.

The PaletteLab system also introduces three adjustable curves (Godox Curve, Blackbody Curve, and Daylight Curve).

- Blue: 5 bands coupling with a smooth, gap-free distribution render blue light with clarity and crisp definition
- Red: 3 bands coupling from red to deep red, the continuous spectrum delivers rich and accurate red with no muddiness and natural, lifelike skin tones.
- Green: A waveform engineered to match natural daylight green, restoring true saturation and fidelity without yellow or dull shifts, creating vivid, dimensional visuals.
- Cyan: Bridges the gap between blue and green wavelengths, enabling smoother shadow transitions and cleaner cyan reproduction, enhancing overall clarity and light transparency.
- PC Amber: Recreates the soft warm tone, avoiding dull or waxy casts.

PaletteLab delivers full-spectrum performance across the entire visible wavelength range. PaletteLab is made up of 9 separate color diodes.
It is good to see Godox introducing a new color engine that competes with other advanced color engines that have come to market in the last few years.
Built upon in-depth spectral analysis of natural daylight, PaletteLab is said to reconstruct a light spectrum that closely replicates real sunlight. This results in a highly natural lighting output.
One of the key innovations is its ability to eliminate spectral gaps. Godox states that, through advanced Multispectral Optical Coupling Technology, PaletteLab optimizes continuity across the full visible spectrum. By refining transitions from blue to cyan and from orange-red to deep red, the system is claimed to achieve exceptional spectral consistency.
