Best of Show Becomes Buy Now: Core SWX PowerVault Lands at B&H

Core SWX PowerVault

Core SWX’s PowerVault, the unified power and charging system we named Best of Show at NAB 2026, is now available for preorder through B&H Photo Video. We got our first look at the PowerVault back in April and called it the first unified power system built for production, and Core SWX has since accelerated its production schedule, with shipments now targeted to begin in September.

What the PowerVault Solves

Anyone running a multi-camera kit knows the problem: every battery platform comes with its own charger, and most production cases end up holding three to six of them, none of which talk to each other or share power. The PowerVault replaces that pile with a single, modular case built around five configurable charging bays. Snap adapters let you assign each bay to a different battery platform, and the system can be reconfigured later if your battery lineup changes.

The case charges V-Mount, G-Mount, SNAP, Sony L-Series, Sony BP-U, Sony FZ100, Canon BP-A, Canon LP-E6, Panasonic Lumix BLK22, and standard AA, AAA, and 9V batteries. Core SWX says it is continuing to expand the adapter ecosystem ahead of launch and is evaluating drone battery support as part of the roadmap.

How It Charges

Each of the five bays delivers approximately 40 to 50W, with the system rated for up to 4A and 48W per channel. A typical 98Wh V-Mount, G-Mount, or SNAP pack charges in under two hours while the system is charging up to five batteries simultaneously. Core SWX lists the following typical charge times:

  • 98Wh V-Mount / G-Mount / SNAP: approximately 2 hours
  • 2x BP-U / BP-A: approximately 4 hours
  • 2x L-Series (NP-F970 equivalent): approximately 2 hours
  • 2x LP-E6: approximately 1 hour
  • AA / AAA / 9V: varies by capacity

SNAP packs can also be stacked for parallel charging, scaling up to 25 packs at once in the base configuration and up to 40 when fully stacked across the system.

Power Sharing Mode

One of the more notable features is Power Sharing Mode, a user-controlled setting that lets batteries in the system redistribute energy between bays without AC power. The top three bays feed the lower two, creating a self-contained, off-grid power loop where a charged V-Mount can top off a BP-U, for example, with no wall outlet involved.

Powering Gear Directly

The PowerVault also functions as a power hub for production gear, not just a battery charger. Built-in outputs include a 140W PD Pro port, a 65W PD Pro port, and dual USB-C outputs, supporting voltages of 5V, 8V, 9V, 12V, 15V, 20V, 24V, and 28V. That covers running cameras, monitors, and laptops directly from the case while it’s also charging batteries.

Build and Monitoring

The case is IP65-rated and built around GaN power architecture, with passive cooling and no fans, so it stays silent in sound-sensitive environments. An interior LED backlight, activated by a front button or through the app, helps with battery placement and status checks on dark sets. Each port also has a red/green LED for a quick read on charging status without opening an app.

The system pairs over Bluetooth with Core SWX’s VoltBridge app, available on iOS and Android at shipment, which shows real-time battery levels, charging activity, and overall system health from a phone. Core SWX notes the PowerVault operates fully independently of the app if you’d rather not use it.
