DaVinci Resolve 21 recently introduced a dedicated Photo interface that allows users to process photographs using scene-referred grading, cinema-style color tools, and advanced film emulation like Filmbox, which leverages scene-referred color processing. Previously, this hasn’t been possible to do in traditional photo software systems.
Video Village has a nice reference guide that shows you how to obtain an accurate cinema-style grading workflow for photography in Resolve, and to help you overcome Resolve’s limited RAW-format support. You can also explore Filmbox’s enormous selection of still photo stocks and Looks presets as they were meant to be seen, and pair them with Scatter for optical diffusion.
Video Village is also working on a Filmbox Photo Mode, which will be built specifically for Resolve 21.
