Portkeys has officially announced the LH5P III, which we first saw a prototype of at NAB 2026, and then last week at IBC 2026 we saw the finished version.
The monitor features a 5.7″ 2200nit touchscreen display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. The reason behind this is that it allows you to display a full 1920 x `1080 image with information outside of the picture. The monitor is also factory calibrated for accuracy.
The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 and Rec.709 color spaces with 10-bit hardware color processing, delivering true-to-life colors, fine detail, and smoother gradations free of color banding.
Entirely made out of aluminum alloy, the LH5P III is rugged yet lightweight, with a weight of only 235g / 8.29oz, which is 18% lighter than its predecessor. This new version is also slimmer, with a thickness of only 28.4mm/1.1in.
The LH5P III has an HDMI and an HDMI out with loop-through capabilities. It runs the PortKeys MOVNORM operating system, which is compatible with select PORTKEYS HDMI-only models.
The MOVNORM OS was completely redesigned from the ground up after gathering feedback from PORTKEYS users around the world. The operating system features a revamped and easier-to-use UI, which is claimed to be more straightforward to use, with fewer gestures and a faster way to navigate inside the monitor’s menu system.
The monitor comes with a full suite of professional monitoring tools, including:
- • 3D LUT monitoring with 17×17×17 precision and 3D LUT HDMI output capabilities. You can load up to 20 custom LUTs via the USB-A port at the bottom of the monitor.
- Anamorphic images can be de-squeezed using 10 standard aspect ratios, including commonly used options like 1.33x, 1.5x, 1.8x, and 2.0x, plus custom aspect ratios from 0.25x to 4.0x.
- Log Stops: an exclusive Portkeys monitoring tool that bases exposure measurement on the camera’s real stop data. Instead of only interpreting the video signal in terms of IRE values, LOG STOPS analyzes the camera’s LOG image output and maps it to built-in profiles for each supported camera model from RED, ARRI, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, FUJIFILM, Blackmagic Design, and Nikon.
- Focus tools, including peaking and gesture zooming, make nailing focus as easy as possible.
- Image analysis and exposure tools, including RGB and Luma Waveform, Luma Histogram, Zebra, and customizable False Color with 13 different colors, including ARRI False Color Image overlay and image capture.
- Framing tools: crosshair, check field, guides, grids, rectangle crop.
- Audio meters.
- Monitor adjustments: backlight, contrast, color temperature, sharpness, chroma, brightness, tint, HDR/HLG, and image flip (H/V).
The LH5P III offers both wireless and wired camera control for a large array of cameras. It features touch focus frame and touch focus tracking capabilities. Touch focus tracking lets users lock onto a target whether shooting moving or static subjects.
For wired camera control, the monitor comes with a 30cm two-in-one video and camera control cable. This cable features HDMI and USB-C connectors on the camera side and a single HDMI connector on the monitor side, combining video and camera control in a single cable.
The monitor also supports a one-to-many collaborative control system. The LH5P III can act as the active controller for up to four additional passive Portkeys monitors (LS7P, BM7II DS, LH7P, BM5IV WR, and LH5P III) over a 50m/164ft link, while each connected unit can control its paired camera wirelessly over Wi-Fi or via a wired connection, up to 7m/23ft.
Camera control is compatible with most major camera brands and models, including:
- • Sony FX3, FX30, FX6, FX5, A1, A7S III, A7R IV, A7R V, A7 IV, A7 V, and many more
- Canon EOS Cinema Cameras C50, C400, C80, and mirrorless cameras such as the EOS R5II, R6, R6II, R6III, and R50V.
- Panasonic S1, S1II, S1R, S5 II and BGH1/BS1H-Series cameras
- Nikon ZR, Z8, and Z9 mirrorless cameras
- Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K
The monitor has four programmable function buttons and a scroll wheel.
The LH5P III has a single Sony NP-F battery plate, but you can also power the monitor through the USB_C port that supports PD protocols. With a low power draw of only 13W, it allows you to power the monitor for over 2 hours with a small Sony NP-F550 battery. Additionally, the USB-C 3.0 PD power input can extend the monitor’s usage time by powering it via a power bank, V-Mount, or Gold Mount battery.
