Laowa Ranger 16-30mm T2.9 Full Frame Zoom First Look

At NAB 2024 in Las Vegas, Laowa was showing the third lens in its Ranger full frame series, the 16-30mm T2.9.

The lens is remarkably small and compact for a full frame cine zoom lens that is this wide.

The lens weighs just 799g / 1.75 lb which makes it almost half the weight of the 28-75mm and 75-180mm.

The optical construction of the lens consists of 18 elements in 12 groups.

It has pretty well controlled distortion for such a wide focal length.

Price & Availability

The Laowa Ranger 16-30mm T2.9 Full Frame Zoom will be available for $2,999 USD. You will also be able to buy it as part of a three lens set. It is expected to start shipping by the end of the northern hemisphere summer.
