Atomos is adding a free sunhood with purchase of the SUMO19 recorder/monitor. With a retail value is $195 that’s not a bad deal, but the promotion only lasts about a month, ending November 10th 2017.
The sunhood has a fully collapsible zipper design that securely attaches to the front bezel of the Sumo body via 1/4-20 screws. This design allows the collapsed hood to double up as a screen protector for safe transportation. The Sumo19 Sunhood reduces the effect of reflections onset improving your HDR experience and viewing environment, with a durable outer fabric and a soft velvet inner. Something like this really is a must for on-set shooting outdoors.
The 19″ Sumo looks like a really loaded monitor/recorder. I took a look at it at IBC and was really impressed. Unfortunately the promotion doesn’t include the recently announced SUMO19M model (that has no recorder function).
