Northwest Camera Co.’s Aureus/Nikkor V35 project is their newest tuning for the Nisi Aureus set. According to the company, the look of the set was designed to emulate the aesthetic characteristics of vintage Nikon AIS lenses.
The tuning is inspired by the Nikon AIS 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.2, and 85mm f/1.4 focal lengths, and it specifically focuses on their soft blooming highlights, sharp textured bokeh, and distinct flare characteristics.
The aim was to create a versatile set that offers a textured look for wider shots while maintaining a non-distracting, flattering appearance for close-ups and talent-focused work.
Pricing & Availability
The lenses are available now for purchase or rental through Northwest Camera Co. and the V35 Project website. There are two different versions of the set:
- Tuning Only ($1,900 USD per lens): Includes the optical tuning and a signature silver band.
- Full Shell Design ($2,500 USD per lens): Includes the tuning plus a custom exterior shell (using techniques like Cerakote or anodizing).
