At IBC 2025, MID49 showed a prototype Canon C50 Full Cage. The design is similar to other cages, from MID49, and that is a good thing. I like my MID49 C80 cage a lot, as it has numerous mounting points that provide me with plenty of options for mounting my devices. A tight-fitting cage is smaller, but I find they generally have fewer mounting options.
The cage wraps around the left, right, and back sides of the camera and utilizes the available tap on the handle for a rock-solid connection.
Another mount for the cage is located on the operator’s left side, which secures the cage.
The Upper Cage for Canon C50 has 1/4-20, 3/8-16, and M4x20mm ARRI MAP threaded holes in several places.

HDMI lock with reduction inserts protects the camera’s HDMI port from abuse and tightens down with a large thumbscrew.
Left side camera tie-down keeps the C50 from tipping under the force of focus motors. Rear handle tie-down adds stability to the handle-body connection when using heavy lenses
Lower ARCA Swiss dovetail attaches to the included baseplate, and the adjustable lens support adapter with 3 lengths of 1/4-20 support screw attaches to 3rd party lens adapters like Metabones, etc.

Baseline 15mm LW (Upper Cage Canon C50)
Quick-release 15mm LW baseplate with ARCA Swiss camera dovetail interface on top and ARRI standard dovetail interface on the bottom.
Canon C50 15mm Rod Clamp
Attaches to the handle’s M4 screws in place of the microphone shockmount. Replica M4 holes are available for stacking the mic holder. M4x20mm ARRI MAP holes are available along with an ARRI 1/4-20.
2x 15mm Rod (9 inch)
Stainless steel iris rods.
