Sony Japan has released a statement about a significant price rise for the FX3 and FX6. The price of the FX3 is rising by nearly 20 per cent and the FX6 by nearly 10 per cent.
Prices are also increasing for the FX30 and FR7.

Sony states that orders placed by 31st August will be processed at the current price.
Here is what was said in the official statement:
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support of Sony products. Sony Marketing Corporation will be revising the manufacturer’s ex-works prices for certain products sold in Japan with effect from 1 September 2026.
In light of the recent surge in raw material, manufacturing, and logistics costs due to external factors, we will be revising the ex-works prices as detailed below. We will also be revising the manufacturer’s recommended retail prices.

Currently, these price increases are only for Japan, but undoubtedly they will also happen in other parts of the world. This also comes on the back of news that the FX5 shipping date has been moved forward to September.
At launch, the Sony FX6 was $5,999.99 USD. In the US, it is currently listed at $6,998 USD, and that is before this probable future price increase.
