The FCC is considering new restrictions that could affect DJI drones already on the U.S. market, and not just future products.
DJI states that despite being framed around “military-grade” drones, the proposal could also include civilian technologies such as thermal imaging, LiDAR, docking stations, and agricultural spraying systems used every day by first responders, farmers, inspectors, businesses, and hobbyists.
If these restrictions go ahead, it could amount to a ban on future sales of certified and currently available products. Products already cleared for the U.S. market could no longer be imported or sold, while covered replacement components could also become harder, or impossible, to obtain.
People could continue using DJI products they already own, but the same models in use today might no longer be available to purchase in the future.
If you rely on these tools like the Matrice 400 or DJI Dock 2, DJI wants you to tell the FCC how the restrictions would affect your work, costs, or community.
