Desview Blade 5 5″ OLED Touchscreen 4K HDMI Ultra Light and Thin On-Camera Monitor

DESVIEW

The Desview Blade 5 5″ OLED Touchscreen 4K HDMI Ultra Light and Thin On-Camera Monitor is available to order in the US. It features a 5.5″ / 14.0 cm OLED panel with 1200 nits/cd/m2 (Peak) brightness, a claimed near-infinite (Black pixels emit no light) contrast ratio, and it covers 100% DCI-P3.

I like the concept of the monitor, as making something in a similar form factor to a smartphone makes sense for certain applications.

The monitor weighs in at just 0.5 lb / 207g. It has an overall thickness of just 13mm (about the same as an Apple iPhone 17 Pro. Despite being lightweight, it is made out of aviation-grade aluminum alloy.

According to Desview, each monitor undergoes rigorous panel screening and full-screen color uniformity control, and is individually factory-calibrated using a hardware 3D-LUT. Desview also states that aviation-grade aluminum’s excellent thermal conductivity delivers outstanding heat dissipation, and it’s equipped with a silent fan for cooling.

The Desview Blade 5 doesn’t have a battery plate; instead, it features a single 7 to 26V DC barrel input and a USB-C (5 VDC / 2 A) Input. The whole concept is to keep the weight of the monitor down, which would be handy for use on gimbals, etc., as long as you have the ability to feed it a USB-C power source. Speaking of power, the monitor draws just 8W.

It has the usual array of viewing assist tools such as: Anamorphic De-Squeeze, Customizable Aspect Ratios, False Color, Focus Peaking, Histogram, Screen Markers, Audio Meters, Aspect Ratio, Vectorscope, Waveform, and Zebras.

It doesn’t feature any wireless, Bluetooth, or camera control functionality.

For mounting, there are anti-twist 1/4″-20 threads on the bottom, left, and right sides.
