Viltrox has unveiled its new DC-550 Pro II, a 5.5-inch high-brightness LCD camera monitor with a compact, lightweight, and portable design. This is an upgraded version of the DC-550 Pro that adds camera control, gyro rotation, vertical shooting support, and an array of UI improvements.

The DC-550 PRO II supports up to UHD 4K60 video input and can send the signal through an HDMI loop-through output. This PRO II model features histograms, positionable waveforms, a cooling fan, 1400 cd/m² brightness, and 1000:1 contrast, making it suitable for outdoor use.
The DC-550 PRO II has an IPS-type LCD 1920 x 1080 touchscreen display that supports live view from your camera, and it covers 100% Rec. 709.
Users can take full command of your camera with wireless connectivity. You can adjust key settings like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO directly from the monitor via USB or Wi-Fi.
It provides the usual array of monitoring tools such as peaking, color temperature, tone, pixel-to-pixel zoom, brightness, contrast, and custom anamorphic de-squeeze ratios. You can monitor the audio via its built-in speaker or 3.5mm headphone port. The waveforms now feature repositioning for easier viewing and three zoom levels.
The monitor features an aluminum construction, weighs just 9.0 oz / 254g, and has physical dimensions of 6.5 x 3.6 x 1.1″ / 16.5 x 9.1 x 2.9 cm.
Customizable F1 / F2 / F3 shortcut keys provide access to essential functions, while the side control dial enables precise and intuitive adjustments.
The monitor is also equipped with a built-in gyroscope for automatic image orientation detection, supporting 0°, 180° image flip and 0° / 90° / 180° / 270° menu rotation. The display adapts automatically to camera orientation.

The monitor features a built-in L-series battery plate that enables you to power it with an L-series battery, or you can power it with a separately available AC adapter or through USB-C.
There is an SD card slot that can be used to load up user LUTS.
The DC-550 PRO II offers real-time LUT preview. This enables you to preview your color grading directly on the screen.
If it is too bright outdoors, Viltrox includes a detachable sun hood that features a quick-release design.
