Ancient Optics has new PEN F Speed Primes. These lenses date back to the 1960s and were designed for the Olympus’ “half frame” Pen F camera system, which used an image area similar to motion picture 35mm film. The results were lenses that were very fast, small, and sharp. The bokeh is claimed to be stunning, and the flares, gorgeous.
The housings utilize GL Optics’ new cam focus system. Close focus is also said to be very good. The full set covers ARRI ALEXA 35 Open Gate. The first 3 focal lengths are the 42mm T1.4, 60mm T1.7, and 70mm T2.2, with many more fast focal lengths on the way.
