Wooden Camera has officially released its new Elite Handheld Accessories. These look to be very well thought-out and constructed handles that can be used on a wide variety of camera systems.
They have been over-engineered so that you could buy one and use it for the length of your career.
We covered these new products last week at Cine Gear 2025 in Los Angeles, just prior to their official launch.
The handles are constructed out of 7075 Aluminium as they need to often support a lot of force, especially with heavy camera setups.
All the rossette attachments are machined directly into the 7075 Aluminium to avoid any issues with anything moving or breaking.
All the knobs have a toolset adjustment on them so you can do extra tighting if need be, which is a handy addition.
The grips on the handles are from a company called ODI, which specializes in making handles for mountain bikes, moto x, etc.
There are three different versions available. One that works with lightweight 15mm rods, one that works with lightweight 15mm rods and 15mm studio rods, and one that will work with lightweight 15mm rods and 19mm rods.
Studio Handgrip Kit $1,099 USD
Available in three configurations—19mm Studio, 15mm Studio, and 15mm LWS—these rod based handgrip kits are built for strength, comfort, and speed on set. Each kit includes a crossbar, two 6” extensions, a pair of ODI BMX-style handgrips, stainless steel DLC-coated knobs, and eight color rings for camera ID customization.
All components are machined from 7075 aluminum, offering exceptional durability for demanding production environments. The crossbar in each version is designed to stay mounted to the rods even when the camera is attached to an ARRI-standard dovetail, allowing seamless transitions between handheld and tripod setups. Both the 19mm and 15mm Studio versions include cut-outs for 15mm LWS compatibility, while all three feature 32mm pivoting rosettes to allow for comfortable handgrip positioning.
The 6” extensions use a unique pentagonal design that ensures strength under stress while keeping the build lightweight. A built-in 5-degree offset enables the full rig to fold down for easier storage. Each extension also includes standard ¼”-20 and ⅜”-16 mounting points for attaching accessories like monitors, as well as 32mm rosettes compatible with M6 hardware.
The included ODI BMX-style handgrips are made from a compound TPE material and feature a large padded design for all-day comfort and long-term durability. The stainless steel knobs have finger grooves for quick adjustments and center holes for a 3/16” or 4mm hex tool when extra torque is needed.
To help identify camera builds quickly, eight color rings (red, blue, green, and yellow—two of each) are included in every kit.
