Laowa has announced its new 15mm f/4.5 0.5X Wide Angle Macro. This lens allows users to capture unique wide-angle macro shots at a minimum focusing distance of 12.9cm.
The combination of wide perspective and macro capability is interesting, and it could be used to create some very interesting shots. The optical design is said to provide excellent distortion control.
The lens is lightweight and compact, weighing in at 0.68lb/ 308g. It is available in Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Leica L mounts. For Sony E, Nikon Z, and Canon EF camera users, the aperture can be adjusted directly from the camera. The electronic chip also allows the recording of metadata in EXIF.
