The new FALCAM TagBatt Batteries allow you to not only power your camera or device, but you can also to keep track of them. Currently, there are versions for Canon LP-E6 and Sony NP-FZ100.
We have seen a lot of tracking devices for cameras, etc. that have usually revolved around screwing something onto a camera cage, or having something inside a lens cap. Putting it into a battery, at least in my opinion, makes more sense. I say that because, often with smaller sized battreies they tend to be placed in bags or spots where you forget where they are.
The battery features a 2600mAh capacity and integrated Apple Find My tracking support to keep you informed of where your equipment is if left behind. If you leave the set without your battery, your iPhone will receive alerts automatically. The battery can also emit sound alerts when searching around a space.
Once depleted, users can recharge the battery via the USB-C input port or with a separately available charger. According to FALCAM, there are multiple safety protections that ensure the battery has a long life.
The only thing I would argue is missing is that there is no physical power indicator on the battery to let you know if it’s charged or not.
