RHJTECH Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Male to Dual Low-Profile XLR 3-pin Male Y Cable

Sometimes the most useful products are the ones born out of necessity. The RHJTECH Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Male to Dual Low-Profile XLR 3-pin Male Y Cable is exactly that.

I am a big fan of small companies that come up with solutions to problems. RHJTECH is run by a working cameraman who, just over a year ago, bought the RODE Wireless Pro kit and was surprised to find there were no low-profile dual XLR cables with the 3.5mm TRS readily available. All the other camera operators and sound recordists he talked to were buying cables using the long XLR plugs that stick out way too far, especially on smaller cameras such as the Sony FX3 and FX6, as well as audio recorders. These options were also very expensive. After doing an extensive search, he could only find one American brand that was expensive, so he decided to design his own and have it manufactured.

After a lot of hard work, B&H came on board as a distributor, and RHJTECH has now sold thousands globally.

Key features

  • For Dual-Channel Wireless Receivers
  • Connect Cameras or Recorders to the Receiver
  • Low-Profile XLR Connectors
  • Color-Coded Caps for Each Channel
  • 39.9cm / 15.7″ cable length

The cable uses high-quality low low-profile XLR plugs with distinctive colour-coded caps. It will work with any wireless microphone system that has a 3.5mm TRS receiver.

Are there any caveats?

The cable won’t fit the Sony FX9 or BURANO because of the XLR input locations on those cameras.
