Wooden Camera has officially announced its new cage and accessory system for the Sony FX5. The cage and accessories provide rigging, lens support, power, and mounting flexibility.
The cage was designed to complement the Sony FX5’s form factor, and the new lineup of accessories provide expanded mounting, lens adaptation, power management, and fast support transitions, which including solutions for handheld, cinema, and gimbal use.
The modular cage system gives users the flexibility to configure the camera without locking them into a single solution. The low-profile cage incorporates a modular dovetail, allowing users to move between bridge plates and gimbals without tools, while maintaining a small footprint for handheld and mobile setups.
The modular cage design supports configurations ranging from a lightweight half-cage to a fully built cinema rig with the Wooden Camera Elite Cage System. Additional mounting options provide space for monitors, wireless systems, articulating arms, lens motors, and other production accessories.
For gimbal workflows, the lineup includes the 13mm Bolt-On ARCA – DJI RS Quick-Release Plate. The low-profile design bolts directly to the camera cage and integrates with DJI RS-series gimbal systems, giving users a quick solution for moving between handheld, gimbal, and other support setups without needing to rebuild the camera.
The Rear Cage Bracket adds a NATO rail plus 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points to the back of your FX5, giving battery plates, monitors, and accessories a secure home. It locks into the Half Cage for a sturdy connection and comes off quickly when you need LCD access.
There is also expanded lens and accessory support, including Wooden Camera’s E-mount to PL and E-mount to LPL adapters. A dedicated lens support provides additional stability for larger lens configurations.
Wooden Camera’s battery slide solutions support both Gold Mount and V-Mount options, providing extended runtime while maintaining a streamlined camera build. Adjustable mounting allows users to position the battery around their specific lens, monitoring, and wireless solutions.
Built using aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum and Type III hard anodization, the Sony FX5 accessories were designed to withstand the demands of professional productions.
