OWC has announced a new Thunderbolt 5 Dock with Dual HDMI that delivers native dual HDMI 2.1 connectivity with no adapters required. One Thunderbolt 5 cable powers dual displays, 2.5Gb Ethernet, a downstream Thunderbolt 5 port for high-speed storage, UHS-II SD and microSD, eight USB ports, audio, and up to 140W laptop charging.
Two HDMI 2.1 ports are built right in, and any monitor that has HDMI plugs directly into the dock. A single Thunderbolt 5 connection delivers dual displays, wired networking, storage, card readers, and full laptop charging simultaneously. It supports dual HDMI displays at up to 4K 240Hz or dual 8K 60Hz with DSC on Thunderbolt 5 hosts. A third display is possible via Thunderbolt or USB-C.
The dock can provide 140W of power delivery to keep MacBook Pros and Windows laptops fully charged, while the front USB-C port delivers up to 30W of charging
The 2.5GbE delivers the throughput needed for NAS workflows, large file transfers, etc., and there are UHS-II SD and microSD slots.
The dock is built to support both horizontal and vertical desk placement.
