Sigma has announced its new 20-60mm F2.8-4 DG | Contemporary for L-Mount and Sony E-mount. You can also pre-order the upcoming 85mm F1.2 DG | Art. Additionally, Sigma has also refreshed its filter range.

Sigma 20-60mm F2.8-4 DG | Contemporary

The Sigma 20-60mm F2.8-4 DG | Contemporary was designed to offer a wide-angle perspective and good portability, as it weighs in at just 385g / 13.58 oz.

The optical design consists of 15 elements in 13 groups, including three aspherical lenses and three SLD glass elements. According to Sigma, flare and ghosting are claimed to be well controlled. It has a 67mm front filter diameter.

The lens does extend when it zooms, so it won’t be usable with a matte box mounted on rods.

The minimum focusing distance is 15.8cm / 6.22″ at 28mm, and it has a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.3 at 35mm. Even at the 60mm telephoto end, it has a high magnification of 1:2.9.

A linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) is claimed to deliver high-speed autofocus. Sigma also states that the lens provides outstanding tracking performance for fast-moving subjects, even at high frame rates.

The lens is also stated to have minimal focusing breathing, which makes it suitable for video applications.

In addition to a dust- and splash-resistant structure, the front of the lens has a water- and oil-repellent coating applied.

The lens will be available on Wednesday, September 30th for $849 USD.

Sigma 85mm F1.2 DG | Art

Sigma has arranged aspherical lens elements within the focus groups, so that the number of lens elements making up the focus unit has been significantly reduced. Even though it incorporates a complex floating mechanism, the lens is claimed to be the smallest and have the lightest weight of any full-frame 85mm F1.2. It weighs in at 905g / 31.29 oz.

The optical design of the Sigma 85mm F1.2 DG | Art consists of 17 elements in 12 groups, and it has 13 aperture blades. In addition to two SLD glass elements, glass with high anomalous dispersion is used to suppress the axial chromatic aberration inherent to large-aperture lenses to the utmost limit. Aspherical lens elements are also claimed to further correct spherical aberration and sagittal coma flare. Flare and ghosting are also claimed to be well controlled.

The optimization of the focus group arrangement and aspherical shape significantly also limits focus breathing.

The lens is said to feature a fast and quiet AF driven by the dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator), delivering reliable tracking performance for both stills and video.

The 85mm F1.2 DG | Art is equipped with an AFL button in two locations, which can be assigned to a range of functions via the menu on selected cameras.

Sigma has updated its filter series for interchangeable lenses. The entire lineup has been completely redesigned to achieve performance improvements.

Four filter models will be released on November 5th, 2026: the Sigma WR Ceramic Protector PTC-21, a ceramic protector offering exceptional impact resistance; the Sigma WR Protector + UV PUV-21, featuring UV protection and water- and oil-repellent coating; the standard Sigma Protector LPT-21; and the Sigma WR Circular PL Filter CPL-21, a circular polarizing filter with water- and oil-repellent coating.
