Godox has officially announced its KNOWLED AM800R 4′ x 4′ light, which features an inflatable airframe. It is essentially a smaller version of the existing AM1600R.
We first saw a prototype of the back at NAB 2026 in April.

The 4 x 4′ KNOWLED AM800R RGB Inflatable LED Light Mat expands the AM line by offering a more compact design that keeps the same versatility and color control of its larger models, with the addition of a fully sealed IP65 rating for all-weather protection.
The AM800R is a durable inflatable frame that does not require any truss support for overhead use. It also featured a foldable U-type yoke with a 300° adjustment range for floor setups. The light allows for 8-PSI high-pressure quick inflation and can be suspended for up to 15 days without reinflation.
The 800W AM800R has multiple lighting modes and a CCT selection from 800 to 10,000K, as well as +/- green/magenta color correction. The AM800R can produce bright soft lighting and comes with three included diffusers and a grid.
It supports floor-mounted setups, boom arm mounting, and truss-free rigging in a studio or on location. Godox includes the light, its controller, modifiers, an air pump, and other essential accessories in a flight case.
The AM800R has CCT, HSI, RGBW, GEL, XY, and FX modes. Users can adjust the brightness from 0 to 100% and access four dimming curves, linear, S-curve, exponential, and logarithmic. The light operates in conjunction with the included controller box and runs on universal 110 to 240 VAC for worldwide use.
The fixture is compatible with wired DMX512, RDM, or wireless LumenRadio CRMX. Additionally, Ethernet control supports the Art-Net and sACN protocols. It can also be controlled via Bluetooth using the Godox Light and Godox KNOWLED apps from up to 196′ away.
Godox claims the light has CRI 96 and TLCI 98 ratings. Users can access multi-lighting sync, make real-time adjustments, and apply various effects for lighting simulations in complex environments.
The AM800R is the lightest AM series fixture, and a single unit weighs approximately 11 lb.
As far as durability is concerned, the AM800R has a Carbon fiber backplate and reinforced inflatable fabric. The backplate also has flexible PCB to reduce deformation stress. The airframe is claimed to be resistant to scratches, abrasion, and frequent on-set handling. The LED modules are replaceable for maintenance and long-term use.
