At NAB 2026 in Las Vegas, Kinefinity was showing a new Active Top Handle that can be used with its upcoming Vista Personal Cinema Camera or any other camera that has a NATO rail.
This is a cleverly designed top handle that incorporates a Sony NP-F battery plate and two USB-C PD outputs that can be used for powering accessories. It also has a cod shoe mount and numerous mounting points.
With the upcoming Vista Personal Cinema Camera, you will be able to use the USB-C PD output to connect the handle to the 2-pin LEMO input via an adapter cable. This will let you hot-swap batteries as well as increase the run time of the camera. Once the battery on the top handle runs out, it will seamlessly switch to the NP-F battery in the camera.
The Top Handle can also be used to mount and power a Kinefinity Eagle EVF.
Pricing & Availability
The Kinefinity Active Top Handle will be around $150 USD, and it should be available within the next 1-2 months.
