At Cine Gear 2025, SmallRig released a new production cart. The Production Cart has been in development for some time and is now ready to launch. SmallRig decided to use crowdfunding initially and then open it up to the retail market. It’s an interesting choice.
The Production Cart is straightforward. It’s designed to be packable, so you can transport it in a car rather than a van. SmallRig states it can break down pretty compactly and all the parts fit inside the top and bottom trays and lock down.
The cart features a toolless design, which is great because it eliminates the need for multiple tools to set it up and potentially saves you from losing an Allen wrench in a remote location.
The cart has a max weight limit of approximately 500 lbs, making it very capable for numerous styles of productions.
On each of the four corners are ports that have a reversible insert that doubles as baby pins, and you can remove them and insert a 35mm C-stand or baby stand.

The rim of the cart is loaded with Arri accessory mounts in 3/8th and 1/4 20″ taps.
As I mentioned, it will be sold in a crowdfunding style. The first 50 units will be priced at $ 1,899, and after the initial release, the price will increase to $ 2,199 shipped. The SmallRig Production Cart will be available for sale in July. No specific crowdfunding platform was announced.
