The new DZOFILM Arles Lustre is a series of high-speed prime lenses that are essentially tuned versions of the standard Arles primes.
The Arles Lustre are available in 10 different focal lengths ranging from 14mm up to 180mm. The T stops range from T1.6 up to T2.8.
The 14mm, 21mm, and 25mm lenses each feature dual aspherical elements that are claimed to precisely correct spherical aberrations and coma, to help eliminate onion-ring bokeh artifacts, and minimize wide-angle distortion and astigmatism. All the lenses feature a 16-blade aperture.
According to DZOFILM, Lustre means ‘soft glow’, and draws inspiration from the iconic golden halation in cinema history. DZOFILM states that they collaborated with over 20 cinematographers and photographers specializing in art films, period dramas, and fashion advertising.
The Lustre series is said to feature a unique coating formula that delivers amber flaring, with a soft glow. The lenses also have a mix of warm flaring and bluish-purple tones.
The Lustre series weigh between 1.4kg and 1.9kg. They have a 95mm front diameter, and are compatible with standard M86 filters.
All the focal lengths feature a uniform placement of focus and aperture gear rings.
The lenses include interchangeable dual-scale imperial/metric focus scales and come with a native PL mount and optional EF and LPL mount kits. They are also fully compatible with DZOFILM KOOP rear magnetic filters.
DZOFILM states that they are suitable for indie films, period dramas, experimental films, and fashion commercials.

According to DZOFILM, these are limited editions and only 100 sets covering the full focal range (14 to 180mm) will be sold, along with 50 single lens options (available in 25/35/50/75mm).
