amaran has introduced two new additions to its lineup, the Verge and Verge Max. They were specifically built for creators who need to light from a desk or use lights in compact spaces.
The amaran Verge is a bi-color, rectangular edge-lit panel light designed for filming, streaming, or working at your desk.
The amaran Verge Max is a 55cm (22in) circular panel that delivers the same soft, flattering output as a traditional softbox setup, without the bulk.
Both lights are claimed to offer soft illumination, and there are multiple ways to control and mount the fixtures.

The slim, lightweight body of the Verge makes it a good solution for various pre-recorded or live shooting scenarios. You can place the LED panel directly on your desk with optional mounting accessories or use your light stand.
The Verge panel is a versatile LED light source measuring 11.5 x 8.7 x 1.1″ with a bi-color color temperature range of 2700 to 6500K. Light intensity is variable too with dimming from 0 to 100%. The Verge is claimed to deliver bright illuminance of 822 lux from 3.3′ at 5600K and up to 2347 lumens.
The light has Edge-lit technology and is RG0-certified to provide soft and built-in diffused light, while providing the highest level of eye safety during long recording sessions. The Verge eliminates UV light, while minimizing blue light to reduce eye fatigue.
The light has seven effects that include fireworks, faulty bulb, lightning, TV, strobe, explosion, and fire.
Users can make lighting adjustments locally on the light or remotely by downloading the amaran app. The app gives you fine-tune control of color, brightness, and other functionalities right from your smartphone and other devices. Users can also opt for Stream Deck compatibility or Sidus Link control options.
The panel is powered by a USB-C connection supporting PD technology. The Verge is compatible with USB-C PD3.0 power supply standards, but amaran recommends the use of the included 30W USB-C PD power adapter.
amaran offers an optional base stand to place the light right at the top of your desk or other flat surface. The Verge is part of the brand’s Verge Lock mounting system to provide a quick and easy setup. A desk clamp stand is separately available as well, so you can clamp the light to a desk, and conveniently place it behind your computer monitor to take up minimal space.
