DJI has announced the Mavic 4 Pro, which offers a lot of improvements over the previous generation. It is starting to get to a point where small-sized drones like the Mavix 4 Pro are offering capabilities and image quality that are good enough for most productions.

The Mavic 4 Pro features a triple-camera system with the ability to capture 6K at up to 60fps and 100MP still images. The standard hanging gimbal of the previous generation is gone, replaced with a ball-shaped 360° Infinity Gimbal at the front of the body, improving the Mavic 4 Pro’s aerodynamics. Within an upgraded triple-camera system, the wide-angle Hasselblad lens now offers 100MP stills, an adjustable aperture, and up to 6K60 HDR video. This is joined by a 48MP medium tele and 50MP standard tele for 4K60 HDR video.

It features an upgrade to ActiveTrack 360 and better low-light performance with 0.1-lux nightscape avoidance and front LiDAR.
The Mavic 4 Pro also gets a new controller in the RC Pro 2, plus a lot of new accessories.

Triple-Camera System

In each bundle is the Mavic 4 Pro, featuring a triple-camera system with 6K60 100MP Hasselblad lens, an upgrade to ActiveTrack 360, and a huge boost to low-light videography with 0.1-lux nightscape avoidance and front LiDAR. The new drone also ushers in a new controller in the RC Pro 2, plus a host of accessories to enhance the experience.

The Mavic 4 Pro offers plenty of upgrades over the Mavic 3 Pro, but the most interesting is arguably the new body design.

The gimbal no longer hangs below the front of the body, and instead, it is now ball-shaped and in line with the frame for better aerodynamic performance. DJI calls the new gimbal the Infinity Gimbal, as it provides a full 360 degrees of rotation, along with 70 degrees of upward shooting.

The Hasselblad-designed 100MP wide-angle lens that can capture 6K60 HDR video. Twin telephoto lenses round out the trio.

There’s a 48MP medium telephoto and a standard telephoto lens, each able to capture 4K60 HDR footage. The standard tele is a big boost from the older 12MP 1/2-inch CMOS, with over triple the resolution at 50MP, and the ability to capture more light and detail with a 1/1.5-inch CMOS. They can even capture slow motion shots with 4K120 support from the Hasselblad and medium tele, and 4K100 from the standard tele.
- 4K60 HDR video (up to 6K60 HDR for 100MP Hasselblad)
- Slow motion video at up to 4K120 (Hasselblad & medium tele) and 4K100 (tele)
- Dual native ISO fusion that seamlessly blends the best of high and low ISO settings
- High resolution RAW stacking of up to 5 frames
- Free Panorama & Subject Focusing modes
- 10-bit D-Log profiles for consistent color

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro standard version comes with 64GB of internal storage, allowing you to start shooting immediately without an external memory card. The Creator Combo Mavic 4 Pro 512GB comes with 512GB of high-speed internal storage and supports high-quality video recording with ALL-I 4:2:2 encoding and time-lapse shooting at intervals of as little as one second.

The drone is equipped with six high-performance, low-light fisheye sensors. This allows for omnidirectional obstacle avoidance when flying in low-light environments. Dual processors help to achieve this awareness at a speed of up to 40 mph. If the light should fall below 0.1 lux, the Mavic 4 Pro can lean on its front-facing LiDAR to detect objects for quick braking and obstacle avoidance.

In addition to autonomous navigation, the Mavic 4 Pro can make its own decisions. The Mavic 4 Pro can also take advantage of its low-light sensors for better tracking once it starts to get darker.

The transmission range has increased from roughly 9.3 to 18.6 miles, and flight time is up to 51 minutes. With the 512GB Creator Combo, pilots get immediate access to the new RC Pro 2 controller.

The RC Pro 2 controller is a significant advancement in remote technology, as it incorporates a big 7” Mini-LED screen that’s capable of displaying true-to-life footage with support for D-Log, D-Log M, and HLG video, along with 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The large display sits above the controls, with thumbsticks that automatically fold into position when the screen rises, and fold back down when you lower it. For videos meant for social media publishing, pilots can rotate the screen into portrait orientation to trigger the camera of the Mavic 4 Pro to also rotate in flight for synchronized vertical video.
Low-Light RTH

Getting your Mavic 4 Pro home safely is more a certainty than ever before thanks to Nighttime RTH and Non-GPS RTH features. With Nighttime RTH, the forward-facing LiDAR can detect and avoid obstacles in low-light conditions. Non-GPS RTH uses the real-time vision positioning system and onboard map construction technologies to memorize flight paths in adequate lighting, even when taking off from locations without satellite signals.
O4+ Transmission

Better know what you’re capturing from the ground with DJI’s O4+ video transmission technology that delivers 10-bit HDR quality footage from up to 18.6 miles away. O4+ also features improved algorithms that help reduce disconnections in high-interference environments, such as in urban areas, and optimizes transmission during multi-drone flights.
Quick Transfer

There’s no need to turn on the Mavic 4 Pro to transfer your clips and images. With Quick Transfer, leave the drone in your bag and use the DJI Fly mobile app to wake it for up to 80 MB/s transfers using Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). If Wi-Fi is not an option, you can always plug in the drone to your PC via USB without having to power it on.

There is also an assortment of accessories for the Mavic 4 Pro, including an intelligent flight battery, parallel charging hub, 240W power adapter, propellers, and propeller guard.
