ZineControl_X is a multicamera version of ZineControl, and at least to my knowledge, it is the first app that allows you to control RED cameras alongside Nikon cameras at the same time.
While it’s built for a RED and Nikon ZR combo, it isn’t limited to it: you can build multicamera sessions with several Nikons, several REDs, or mix both brands however you like. It wil work with the following cameras:
- RED: KOMODO, KOMODO-X, V-RAPTOR, V-RAPTOR XE, and the DSMC2 line
- Nikon: ZR, Z8, Z6, Z6III, Z50, Z50II, Z30, and more on the way
If you shoot documentaries, interviews, or multi-camera shoots with RED and a Nikon ZR as your B camera, ZineControl_X brings them together on a single screen.
The app also allows you to sync timecode across all your cameras without needing any sync boxes or cables.
It is optimized for iPad, and it also runs on iPhone and Mac. Cameras connect over Wi-Fi; SeeMo support for RED cameras is coming later.
ZineControl_X gives you all the same controls as ZineControl: ISO, shutter, white balance, codec and resolution, remote recording, and Focus Touch, on both Nikon and RED. You also get all of the monitoring tools: false color, waveform, RGB parade, focus peaking, zebra, a LUT engine with .cube import, and anamorphic desqueeze.
In addition, a set of tools exclusive to RED is coming soon, as well as an Android version of the app.
