Accsoon has launched a new fast charger and power solution for Canon camera users. The TOPRIG BP-A battery plate is a combination fast charger/USB-PD, USB-A, and D-tap power distribution plate priced at $39.99 USD.
It allows users to power mirrorless cameras, accessories, phones, and tablets via USB-PD, USB-A, or D-tap connections using Canon BP-A type batteries.
The charger can rapidly charge a Canon BP-A30 battery in just 78 minutes and a BP-A60 in just 120 minutes. The USB-PD port is rated at 30W, making it suitable for powering most mirrorless cameras, including Canon R5 II, R5C, and R6 II, as well as devices like focus motors, LED lights, phones, and tablets.
The D-tap output is rated at 60W so it can be used to power a wide range of professional devices like monitors and wireless transmitters, as well as cinema cameras that have compatible external power inputs. (Note that the output is reduced if used simultaneously with the USB-PD and/or USB-A output.)
It weighs just 49.1g, which is good if you need to conserve space and travel light.
There is also a USB-A port that can power a wide range of devices. When the USB-A port is used at the same time as the USB-PD port the output of each is reduced so that the combined output of both ports is not greater than 30W.
The TOPRIG BP-A battery plate attaches to a camera setup via 1/4-20 mounting screw. It has quick-release slots so it can be mounted directly to Accsoon’s PowerCage II for iPad and iPad Pro, creating a nicely integrated Canon BP-A powered monitoring setup.
Also included is a quick-release plate that allows the TOPRIG BP-A battery plate to be mounted directly to a camera hot shoe, or under the camera on gimbals. This provides a great way to ensure a gimbal-mounted camera is powered during longer shoots.
A USB-C to C charging cable is included to connect the charger to a suitable USB-PD power source.
