The BURANO has recently started shipping and Sony has released a firmware roadmap for the camera. It has been confirmed that the BURANO will get a 4:3 recording mode. No further details about the 4:3 aspect imager scan modes is available, but I imagine the BURANO will take a 4:3 crop out of the full sensor so you can shoot anamorphic at lower resolutions.
It is also not clear when this will be available or whether it will be a free or paid upgrade.
