AstrHori has announced a new 18mm F8 2X Periprobe lens for APS-C sensor cameras. It is available in Sony E, Canon RF, Nikon Z, Leica L, M43, and Fuji X mounts.
If this lens sounds familiar its probably because the concept looks to be very similar to the Laowa FF 24mm T14 2X Macro Periprobe that I previously reviewed on the site.
The lens has a rotation lock that allows you to shoot in four different directions.

The 18mm F8 2X Periprobe lens features 0.8 MOD focus and iris Gears which allows it to be used with manual or motorized follow focus and iris controls
You can manually focus on subjects as close as 0.8cm away at 2x magnification while capturing a wide 80° perspective.
The lens has a 25cm waterproof front barrel so you can submerge part of it in water. It also features a 1/4″-20 thread so you can mount lights enables easy mounting of fill lights, providing flexibility in various shooting scenarios.
