The Kinotehnik Practilite 634 Bi-Color LED Aspheric Zoom Fresnel is finally available to purchase. It was announced early in 2022.
The Kinotehnik Practilite 634 Bi-Color LED Aspheric Zoom Fresnel was designed to be a variable beam, smartphone-controlled fixture for use by solo shooters or small crews.
I previously reviewed the first Practilite Bi-Color Smart LED Fresnels way back in 2017. I found them to be very good options if you were looking for a high-quality, portable Bi-colour LED light. They are built like a tank, provide a good amount of output and are very color accurate. The fact that the lights output is almost identical regardless of what CCT they were set at is a big deal. The light fall off was some of the best I have seen from a LED fresnel fixture. The 15 to 75 degree beam angle on the 602 and the 604 gave the lights a lot of flexibility depending on what you need them to do.
Ok, so let’s get back to the Practilite 634 Bi-Color.
- Claimed output: 30,000 Lux at 3.3′ (5600K)
- Boost Mode Output: 42,000 Lux at 3.3′
- 3000-6000K Bi-Color COB LED
- CRI 97 | TLCI 98 (claimed)
- AC Power
- Bluetooth Control with iOS/Android App
- DMX512 Capability
- Hybrid Fan / Passive Cooling
The light is CCT adjustable from 3000-6000K and it features a 2.8″ aspheric 6x zoom lens. The aspheric zoom lens allows you to adjust the beam angle from 10-60° using a simple manual zoom knob on the rear of the fixture.
The fixture draws just 65W and it weighs 2.9 lb/ 1.3kg.
The Practilite features integrated analog controls and an OLED display. You can control up to six lights from your phone with the free Bluetooth app for iOS and Android devices. The 634 can also be controlled from a console via DMX.
The form factor of the Practilite makes it compatible with Profoto speed rings, reflectors, and more.
