Film Gear has announced its new Tashan 1000C and 1500C RGB Power Panels which are claimed to offer more output than any other competing RGB panel.

Film Gear has taken a lot of the same technology from its RGB Max series and placed the same TIR lens and MCOB chip design (tightened to a 22º angle) into the new Tashan 2×2 and 2×3 RGB Power panels.

According to Film Gear, these new types of luminaires output a very bright hard light that is far removed from traditional diffusion panels. Getting a focused beam without sacrificing intensity has long been a challenge for LEDs, however, the Tashan 1500C is claimed to be able to output more than a 5kW Tungsten Fresnel.

Both models draw less than 15A house power. Above you can see their claimed photometric output at various distances. The Tashan 1500C has a claimed output of 252,000lx @1m/ 3.3′ when set at 5600K. This is an insane amount of output for a 2×3 sized panel. Even the smaller 1000X 2×2 panel has a claimed output of 181,600lx @1m/ 3.3′ when set at 5600K.

Now, because these are essentially hard light with a 22-degree beam angle, Film Gear also has optional Diffuser Domes that you can use to help soften and broaden the spread of light.

Both lights utilize RGBW technology and they have a CCT range of 2700-10,000K and full +/- Green / Magenta adjustment. The Tashan 1500C draws 1580W and the Tashan 1000C draws 1050W.

The panel lights feature a large library of presets and options including pixel control. They also incorporate full wireless control powered by LumenRadio’s TimoTwo.

Both Tashan panels feature an IP65 rating, so they can be used outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Neither of these two panels is what you would describe as lightweight. The 1000C without its yoke frame weighs 34kg / 74.95 lb and the 1500C without its yoke frame weighs 43kg / 94.79.
