Cooke announces four new S8/i FF focal lengths

Cooke has announced four new focal lengths in its S8/i FF series. The new lenses are the 27mm, 35mm, 65mm, and the highly anticipated 18mm. There are now 16 lenses in the series.

Cooke introduced the first seven focal lengths in the S8/i series last March. The lenses feature an all-spherical design and fast T1.4 apertures and they were developed following feedback from cinematographers wanting to achieve more realistic and cinematic images for digital motion capture.

Evolving the famous Cooke Loo, S8/i FF lenses are claimed to deliver beautiful images that have an organic feel and a smooth, spherical bokeh effect with minimal color fringing.

The lenses are available in either PL or LPL mount.

Most of the Cooke S8/i FF primes retail for around $35,000 USD each.
