amaran has released a limited edition of the COB 60x in White. The fixture is functionally identical to the current COB 60x only the color has changed. This is a limited edition, so when they are sold out, they are gone.

While I generally don’t have a specific use for a light with a white finish, I have to admit it looks pretty cool, and it would make a nice practical for a set. It’s also flat white, so it won’t be shiny. With the popularity of YouTubers talking to camera they would be a nice option in the background. Aside from that, I think amaran is having a bit of fun, and I can’t remember another lighting company releasing a limited version of a light fixture. Hey, if RED can release a white Stormtrooper Komodo, then why not!

The COB 60X is a handy light. It’s very compact and has enough punch for a small softbox to be added for interviews or fill. These lights travel well when every inch and ounce matters.
Two NP batteries can also power it in a pinch with the included NP-F Battery Plate. You can also use a D-Tap to barrel adapter for longer run times and mount a V lock to the side. You Gold Mount users don’t have a mounting option, as it’s only available with the V-Mount.

Please keep in mind that the Hyper Reflector (Mini) has a very narrow 15° beam angle that will significantly boost the lux readings. As in the sample image from two meters, the hot spot is approximately 1.5 feet or 0.45 meters wide.
