CAME-TV has released a Remote Controlled Slider for the DJI RS2 Gimbal that comes with a 3.47m / 11.88′ track.

Essentially this is a motorized dolly that has been designed to work specifically with the DJI RS2, however, it will work with regular cameras as well.

It can handle payloads up to 50kg / 110.2 lb and it comes with both 75mm and 100mm bowls. There is also an optional 150mm bowl available as well. The dolly utilizes 8 wheels.

The motorized dolly has a maximum speed of 4m/s and it runs via a 5200mAH battery that CAME-TV states will power the dolly for up to 4 hours. You can also run it via mains power and it has a 14.8-17V DC input.

The included remote control lets you set AB points, change the travel speed, set up automatic round trips, start/stop the travel, etc.

It also has the added advantage of being able to control the DHI RS2’s pan, tilt, and roll.

The wireless remote works on the 2.4Ghz frequency spectrum and CAME-TV claims it has a max. operating range of up to 50m / 164′. The battery in the remote can be charged via USB-C and it is said to be able to stay powered on for up to 5 hours.

The slider itself is made up of 4 x 667mm and 1 x 800mm pieces that connect together to create a 3.2m long track.

The slider is supported by 6 legs and a middle cross member. The legs can only go up to a max. height of 80cm / 2.62′.

Now, this is certainly not what I would describe as a lightweight kit. The whole system comes in three separate cases.

This is not something you are going to be able to set up in 5 minutes. It is for specific types of shoots where repeatable, motorized movement is required.

Price & Availability

The Remote Controlled Slider for the DJI RS2 Gimbal is now available for $1,899.00 USD. That actually makes it very affordable as far as motorized dollys are concerned.

Just how smooth it is, and how much noise it makes is unknown.
