The XF 18mm f/1.4 R WR is a compact, portable prime lens that is well suited for documentary, travel, landscape, nature, and architectural photography and videography.
The optical design is claimed to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions.
The lens features a linear autofocus motor, along with an internal focusing design. The lens is weather-sealed and features an aperture ring with an “A” position lock for use in automated exposure control.
The minimum focusing distance is 7.9″ / 20 cm and the lens weighs 13.1 oz / 370 g.
