New Tamron FE Zoom lens is coming

Tamron are teasing a new FE (full-frame Sony E-mount) zoom lens. While they are yet to announce any details, it will join the three existing zoom lenses in the Tamron FE range.

What could it be?

The physical size of the lens (at least in the illustrations) is very similar to the 28-75mm.

Tamron already has the 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD, 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD, and the 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD. All three of these lenses offer good performance at a reasonable price.

Given the existing range that already exists, it will be interesting to see what focal length the new zoom will be. It is either going to be a wider zoom (probably the most likely option), a long telephoto that goes above 180mm, or a mid-range zoom with an increased focal range at the expense of a slower aperture.

As all of the other currently available Tamron FE zooms feature a constant F2.8 aperture, I think it could be an ultra-wide-angle zoom.
