Blackmagic has dropped the price of the BMPCC 6K from $2,495 USD to $1,995 USD.
The new price of $1,999 USD, a reduction of $500, makes this camera a little more obtainable to shooters on a tight budget. With the recent studio camera software update and current demand for multi-camera live streaming from home broadcast studios, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K price drop comes at a good time.
I can only speculate, but the Coronavirus has also undoubtedly played a role in the camera’s price drop.
The BMPCC 6K’s little brother the Pocket 4K hasn’t received a price drop and it is still $1,295 USD.
