Blackmagic Design Video Assist 5″/7″ 12G HDR get Blackmagic RAW recording

Today, Blackmagic Design released Video Assist 3.1 which added Blackmagic RAW recording to the Video Assist 5″ 12G HDR & Video Assist 7″ 12G HDR monitors when using the Panasonic EVA-1 or Canon EOS C300 II.

These new monitors were announced at IBC 2019.

The new update also includes:

  • Add Digital Slate to the Video Assist 5” 12G HDR and Video Assist 7” 12G HDR
  • Improves HDMI connectivity with some cameras to Video Assist 5” 12G HDR and Video Assist 7” 12G HDR
  • General performance and stability updates to the Video Assist 5” 12G HDR and Video Assist 7” 12G HDR

Along with the Video Assist software update, Blackmagic also released Blackmagic RAW 1.7 which added support for Panasonic EVA-1 & Canon EOS C300 Mark II RAW clips captured using the Video Assist monitors.

This allows for editing within DaVinci Resolve or the Blackmagic RAW plugins in Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid.
