Nikon pulling out of NAB Due to COVID-19

Nikon is the first big-brand camera company to announce that it is not participating at NAB 2020 in Las Vegas. Daily, events all over the world are being cancelled or postponed. I’m sure more will follow when it comes to NAB 2020 exhibitors baring a complete cancel.

Today, California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency after the first coronavirus death as well as 50 confirmed cases. With Nevada right next door we could see this virus move to the Las Vegas area soon.

Nikon Press Release

Nikon’s first priority is always the health and safety of our employees, partners and customers. As we continue to closely monitor and gauge the impact of COVID-19, Nikon Inc. and MRMC, a Nikon Group company, have made the decision not to participate in NAB 2020. We will continue to closely evaluate our travel policies, programs and activities to mitigate risk.

As more news comes to light we will share it. As of today Newsshooter is still attending and covering NAB 2020. You can get daily updates on the status of NAB 2020 from their website.

Never hurts to be safe so here are the official CDC guidelines for prevention & treatment of COVID-19 virus.
