Phantom VEO 1310- 10,800fps

genVEOSleftBack

The Phantom VEO 1310 is claimed to be Vision Research’s most light-sensitive VEO yet. It is available in both L (light) and S (full) body styles to meet the needs of many applications.

The 1310 captures images at over 10,800 frames-per-second at 1.2 Megapixel resolution. Unfortunately, the resolution is limited to 1280 x 960. This won’t shoot at the resolutions of the Phantom VEO 340,640, VEO4K 990 and PL VEO4K 590.

There will always be a trade-off between fps and resolution with high-speed cameras.

This camera could be used for filmmaking applications, but with limited resolution, it is probably going to be more suitable for industrial use.

The camera uses a 1 Megapixel CMOS sensor. The sensor is 23 mm x 17.3 mm. The full-size sensor means bigger pixels (18 µm pixel size) which give the VEO 1310 higher sensitivity, a greater depth of field, and a wider field of view.

If you are going to shoot at 10,000fps you not only need a ton of light, but you need a fairly light-sensitive camera. The E.I range is 6,400 – 32,000 (color); 25,000 – 125,000 (mono).

The VEO 1310 uses interchangeable lens mounts. It comes standard with a Nikon F-mount that supports F & G style lenses.

Build Quality, Weight & Size

All Phantom VEO cameras utilize the same high-quality housing. The milled aluminum body is very compact, around a 5″ cube, and constructed to be lightweight, approximately 6lbs (2.7 kg). Components are safe from dust and sand as the electronics are safely sealed and protected from airflow. These added protections and the rugged design ensure device safety during outdoor and range use.
