Tilta BMPCC 6K & 4K Screen Modification

On the last day of IBC Tilta surprised us with a new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K fully articulating screen modification kit.

The kit is user installed and doesn’t require you to make any permanent changes to the camera. You can easily put the screen back to its original configuration if you want to.

The screen will fully articulate and even go into selfie mode. Unfortunately the image will be upside down as the Pocket software doesn’t have a flip image option. Still I doubt many will mind as just seeing the image for framing is huge.

Tilta will release a detailed step by step installation video to make it as easy as possible. The crew at the Tilta booth stated they installed the hardware on the Pocket in the booth with no issue. Impressive!

Not only does the kit allow the screen to articulate Tilta has reversed the USB-C input so a M2 drive can be installed in the space where the monitor used to be. It’s really impressive.

The third modification is to the input section of the Pocket. The annoying port covers are gone and a new carbon fiber cover goes in with smaller port covers. Tilta is working on adding another USB-C input since the original is now being used for the M2 drive.

The kit will retail for $329 and be available in November.
