As for the body itself, it is very compact. With dimensions of 98.4mm x 49mm x 26.27mm when unfolded & 50.3mm x 49mm x 52.54mm when folded. A 1/4″ thread is found on only one side of the camera so the camera will be offset when on the tripod.
Just like all of the other Insta360 cameras, you can natively edit the content within Adobe Premiere Pro for a seamless workflow, with no stitching in post required.
The EVO has a minimalistic design, with only a few buttons on the unit. The companion app can be used to change settings and shooting modes like TimeShift and Tiny Planet.
The EVO has full integration with Adobe Premiere Pro. You don’t need to do any stitching.
Insta360 VR, a new app for the Oculus GO, HTC VIVE Focus & Samsung Gear VR allows you to connect the EVO to a headset for streamlined wireless playback and transfer.
If you don’t have a VR headset, you can use the Insta360 HoloFrame with a mobile phone to view the content. The HoloFrame was co-developed with South Korean based company, Mopic. This allows for 3D content to be viewed on the smartphone.
Looking at the Mopic website, the case looks to house a lenticular lens within the case, which allows for the 3D stereoscopic image to be viewed without using any other optics. The cases are made to be mounted on the front of the device when viewing content, and then reversed to be used as a regular protective case.
The HoloFrame will retail for $29.99 USD each. On launch, the HoloFrame will be available for the iPhone X, XS, XS Max and XR with additional versions for Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, S9, S9+ and Note 8 models coming soon.
