Cinemartin has recently been making headlines for their upcoming Fran 8K camera, but today, they are announcing two new Ultrabright monitors named the Katherine & Katherine LT.

Cinemartin has been producing field monitors for quite some time and has a few existing models like the Eclipse & Loyal which also aim to offer a monitor that is affordable yet rich in features. The new Katherine monitors are no different.

When you are shooting outdoors, you really need a monitor with at least 1500 nits of brightness to be viewable and usable outdoors on a clear sunny day. The Katherine & Katherine LT monitors have a maximum rated brightness of 2500 nits with a 7″ screen.

The Katherine LT is the entry model monitor in the range, offering a number of monitoring tools and modes:

  • False Color
  • Focus Assist
  • Histogram
  • Zebra
  • Anamorphic modes
  • Zoom

The flagship Katherine model, adds a few more tools and a chassis made of Carbon Fibre with standard (spec 1) or forged (spec 2) options. In addition to the tools found in the entry model, it adds:

  • Waveform
  • RGB Parade
  • Custom LUT monitoring

Both the Katherine & Katherine LT house a Full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1200. Both of the monitors have HDMI & 3G SDI in and output passthrough. The flagship Katherine model features an 8+2 bit FRC panel and also adds mini-XLR power input connector, Ethernet, V-Mount and dual Sony NP-F battery plates.

The Katherine LT will retail 299.95€ (~$350 USD) with an introductory price of 250.95€ and is shipping now.

The flagship Katherine will retail for 999€ (~$1150 USD) for the standard model and 1099£ (~$1250 USD) for the forged carbon fibre model and are expected to ship at the end of November. There is no information on the differences between the standard and forged carbon fibre models besides the material.
