Aputure has launched it’s first ever online film competition, with the Light This Location Film Festival with over $100,000 worth of film gear to be won.
How do I enter?
Entry to the Light This Location competition is quite simple and has three components.
- Main film, shot in one location
- BTS video
- Floorplan showing the lighting setup
The main difference here between other short film competitions is that you are restricted to only one location. This is Aputure’s definition according to the FAQ:
Regardless of where you choose, you will have to define your location with your submission and it should look the same throughout the entire film. Stages with multiple sets or extensive green screen work are not allowed. Brownie points will be awarded to films that can stay within the same room or at a single geographical point.
Entry is open world wide and closes on the 24th of August, 2018.

Judges & Prizes
A panel of judges will decide on the winning films for the six category and three runner-up prizes (Best Film, Most Creative Lighting, Audience Award, Best Female Filmmaker, Best BTS, Most Creative Location).
Of course, the prizes are full of Aputure lights and gear from partnering brands.
