Blind Spot Gear launches the Scorpion Light V2 on Kickstarter

Blind Spot Gear is back with another Kickstarter to launch the Scorpion V2.

The Scorpion V2 makes a number of improvements over its predecessor which was announced back in 2014 with 30% more power, a shorter and stronger gooseneck arm and a claimed TLCI rating of 94. Blind Spot Gear has successfully launched other products including the Tile light which we reviewed here on the site. The Scorpion V2 has a 27-degree beam angle and 5600K colour temperature. The light can be powered by an AC adaptor or battery powered with Sony NP-F style batteries for 80 to 240 minutes depending on the battery size.

Just like the original, the Scorpion V2 has a flexible gooseneck but is stiff enough to hold the position of the light where you want it. The end of the gooseneck has a spigot on the end so you can mount it on to clamps or on light stands via the 1/4″ thread.Included nano/maffers clamps make them easy to mount in various places and Rosco or Lee gels can be easily attached to the barn doors with the included magnets. A cabled dimmer allows for 0-100% dimming.

For fans of the latest Netflix series Altered Carbon, you can even spot the Scorpion lights being used as practicals.

Blind Spot Gear has put together a few VR samples to show multiple Scorpion V2 lights in use.
