GoPro HERO4 Black gets 60fps at 2.7K and 240fps at 720p shooting with new firmware

We reported a few weeks ago that new firmware was coming to the GoPro Hero4 Black that would enable 720p 240fps (Narrow FOV only) recording, 2.7K at 60p and a time Lapse Video mode. As of today it is available to download.

Previously the Sony FDR-X1000V 4K Action Cam was the only one capable of shooting 240fps at 720p. It is nice to see this included in the Hero4 Black. For professional users the more exciting feature will probably be the ability to record 60p in 2.7K mode. The Protune recording mode now also defaults the cameras ISO to 1600. It will be interesting to see if this introduces more noise in the recordings. The Time Lapse video mode ads a lot of convenience as you get the time-lapse recorded right there in the camera instead of having to do it in post.
