Flying a drone can often be a lot more difficult that it looks with safety being a big concern. With more and more regulations coming in it is important to understand how to fly and operate a drone properly, responsibly and legally.

DJI is holding free events in cities around the world for first-time pilots and those who want to learn basic flight techniques while developing safety awareness. In 2014 DJI covered 40 cities in mainland China and overseas and will expand to even more locations in 2015.

In addition to a one hour flight classroom session, participants get hands-on experience flying the Phantom outdoors with an experienced instructor. Following each event, all participants will get a chance to win a coupon for 50% off a new Phantom 2 Vision+ of their own.

Below is a list of just some of the upcoming dates and cities where the new pilot training will be available. To register and get more information please head over to DJI.

It is good to see a company providing free training for their products. The more and more people that learn how to operate a drone properly and safely, the less incidents are likely to happen.
