Since posting ‘Gerry’ last week, Joe Simon’s latest cinematic mini doc has gained more than 70,000 views and been awarded a Vimeo staff pick. Joe is no stranger to this blog and his company The Delivery Men does some great work. This short tells the story of gun engraver Gerry Beathard and is shot using Canon C100, C300 and 5DmkIII, along with a variety of Kessler gear including the new Second Shooter motion control, the Pocket Jib, CIneslider and Parallax. Also used were a MoVI M10 brushless gimbal and a DJI Phantom.

Now Kessler University have published a great blog post in which Joe walks us through the shoot. It is well worth a read. There is also a short behind the scenes video of Joe talking about how he achieved the shots. It was great to see the Second Shooter (formerly the UniDrive) in use and I’ve personally been waiting since NAB for this little gadget to ship.
