Ever since NAB 2013 and the buzz around the Freefly systems MoVI it seems like not a day goes by without some company launching yet another new brushless gimbal system. It came as no surprise then that there would be Chinese alternatives at the BIRTV show in Beijing last week.
Filmpower is a company I had never heard of before, but that hasn’t stopped them rushing to market with a sub $1500 US brushless gimbal stabiliser. It is available to buy right now in China – although improvements are promised later on. You can judge for yourself whether the results are worth it in the video below:

Personally I would try any brushless gimbal system out before committing money to it. So far the MoVI is the only system I have played with that would work for my applications but I do wonder how long it will take the competition to catch up.
